FARMHOUSE, EAST LOTHIAN
A substantial extension to a traditional stone built farmhouse, with accommodation designed for a growing family and seasonal farm help.
A new bow-fronted feature entrance with a circular vestibule provides a distinctive focal point.
Sandstone block walls and lime mortar were specified to compliment the original farmhouse stonework, whose rich colouring was only revealed upon removal of a thin layer of hard cement mortar.
A new solid oak stair, oak doors and conservatory, slate roofs and floors and traditional sash windows reflect the clients' passion for traditional, high-quality construction.
Initial plans for the house were prepared by Marcus Dean.
