CROFT HOUSE IN MORAYSHIRE
Designed as low-density crofting home on an elevated site in east Morayshire, the house is shaped to deflect the prevailing wind, and create within the lee a sheltered entrance court and garden.
The house pivots around a central stone fireplace within a sun room, which uses encourage solar gain. The masonry wall acts as a thermal sink, irradiating heat to provide warmth at night.
Timber framed construction. Finishes are lime render, larch and zinc cladding.
