EDINBURGH CITY CENTRE URBAN REGENERATION & PUBLIC REALM IMPROVEMENT
Pockets of blight still remain around the city centre. This regeneration of an urban fringe area seeks to overcome long-standing infrastructure constraints, and stitch back together the urban fabric.
Long-term renewal begins with the re-organisation of circulation patterns and creation of appropriate urban form - new building edges, active frontages and high quality urban open space.
The mixed-use proposals include urban housing, multi purpose workspace and leisure developments, and a new landscaped public square.
An array of ecological design features have been incorporated into the design.
