SUSTAINABILITY POLICY

Sustainability for us is about using our clients' resources most effectively to reduce environmental impact and life-cycle costs.

Sustainable development has economic and social as well as environmental implications. That is why we value collaboration with clients and consultation with stakeholders in considering inherent opportunities for energy, water and waste management, mixed use, wider access and the needs of future users in our projects.

We strive to achieve zero carbon emissions in new development, and carefully specify materials and products which have low embodied energy and low toxicity.

We encourage use of locally sourced materials and local contractors where possible. All timber we use is either selected from local sources or FSC certified and from responsibly managed sources.

We seek to manage our own resources efficiently to provide our clients services. We have a procurement policy to ensure that goods that we purchase and services we use meet exacting environmental standards, and a travel policy to minimise air and car travel, and making more widespread effective use of electronic communications.
