David trained at Edinburgh University and has over 20 years experience in private practice in the US and UK, completing a diverse range of architectural design projects from individual houses and art museums to universities and office buildings.

David's long held interest in the process of adaptation and managing change is exemplified by dissertations on Dwelling Dynamics and Masterplans: Their Role and Contribution to Design Quality in Scotland and through his work with DEGW, RMJM and Hackland and Dore.

David was elected to the British Institute of Facilities Management in 1996 in recognition of his contribution to workplace design for UK government clients.

With a masters degree in Urban & Regional Planning from Strathclyde University, David is also a corporate member of the Royal Town Planning Institute, specialising in sustainable development, masterplans and urban design.

David has provided consultancy advice on planning, regeneration and workplace issues to the development sector, landowners, government, businesses, private clients and architectural practices.
